Joel Allen Mott, Sr. was born in Tuckerton, NJ. He was the oldest of all his siblings. He was in the Navy during WW I and served later in the Naval Reserves. His post High School education was at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia. It was while attending here that he boarded at the home of Dr. Beek and family. He married the Dr.'s oldest child and was employed as a CPA. His family lived in Gloucester City, NJ. He died of a massive heart attack a few months before his middle son was to be married. He was the grandfather I never met.
