Mr. John R. Moody, 86, of Waycross, died Saturday morning at Clinch Healthcare in Homerville after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County.

He was retired as an engineer with the SCL Railroad. Mr. Moody was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a past Commander of the VFW, a member of the Hasan Temple, The York Rite of Freemasonry, Post #4382, member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM #305, and the Waycross Shrine Club.

His parents were the late Walter Lee and Hattie Mae King Moody. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Brian Swain, one brother, J.D. Moody, and two sisters, Eva Whitgreave and Louise Johnson.
