Virginia Sue Gant, 73, of Glendale died Dec. 23, 2007, in Phoenix.

Mrs. Gant was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Bertha and Roy Cook. She attended Northwest Bible College in Minneapolis. In 1957 she married the Rev. Bob Gant in Tucson. They moved to Buckeye in 1980 when he was named pastor of First Baptist Church in Buckeye. She worked at an emergency center and carried out duties as a minister's wife.

She is survived by her husband, two twin daughters, Jane Baguhn of Peoria and Ann Stevens of Goodyear; two sons, Steve of Avondale and Dan of Goodyear; one sister, Betty Irwin of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at Estrella Mountain Church at 10485 S. Estrella Parkway in Goodyear. A service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the church. The Rev. Mark Knister and the Rev. Mike Perkinson will officiate.

Interment will be at Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery in Buckeye.

Buckeye Funeral Home in Buckeye made the arrangements.
