Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Hagelbarger, Tiverton Township, received word Friday of the death of their son, Lt. Clarence Dale Hagelbarger, 23, which occurred in a crash of a four-engine bomber at Biggsfield, El Paso, Texas, Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Lt. Hagelbarger was born February 16, 1920 in Tiverton Township, a son of Ralph and Eva Holt Hagelbarger. Besides the parents he is survived by three brothers, Don, who is with the U.S. Army in Australia, Paul and Robert of the home; a sister, Jane of the home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Hagelbarger of the home and his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. O.W. Holt, Tiverton Township.
Lt. Hagelbarger was graduated from Tiverton High school in 1937 and from Liberator Bomber Pilot School. His uncle, Rev. B.F. Hagelbarger, Mansfield, will officiate. interment will be in Tiverton Cemetery. -- The Coshocton Tribune, October 9, 1943
