Graveside service for Col. David Lovelace, 88, of Shreveport, La, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Courtland City Cemetery with the Rev William Cooper officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 5 until 9 at the funeral home.
Col. Lovelace died Thursday, Oct 30, 1997, at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He was born May 17, 1909, in Vicksburg, Miss. He was a native of Delhi, La, and had lived in Shreveport for the last six years. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II, retiring with the rank of Colonel from the US Air Force after 27 years of service. He was a Mason, member of Broadmoor Lodge 432 F & A M , and member of Courtland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lovelace; two sons, Richard M Lovelace of McAllen, Texas, and David W Lovelace of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren.
