Mabel Cochran CHARLESTON Mabel Vaughn Cochran, 89, of Charleston died at 11:20 a.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2003) at her residence. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Caudill-King Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Monday until service time at the Caudill-King Funeral Home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1913, in Coles County, daughter of Ebb and Ida Mae Ferguson Pearcy. She married Charles N. Vaughn in 1929; he died in 1972. She later married Leo M. Cochran; he died in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Clarence Vaughn of Lawrenceville and Thomas Vaughn of Janesville; two daughters, Doris Linder and Mary Tucker, both of Charleston; four sisters, Dorothy Clark of Chicago, Mildred Cassidy of Oakland City, Ind., Carrie Rogers and Nell Pearcy, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cochran was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1592 Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
