Armorer-Aerial gunner Killed In Action aboard
B-26B Marauder #42-96144 "Bank Nite Betty."

He and his crew were shot down over Belgium while flying a bombing mission to destroy the Eller Railroad Bridge in Germany. Their twin engine medium bomber was struck by a direct flak burst and was cut in half. No parachutes
were observed.

Missing Air Crew Report 11483.

Bruno was a large boy and falsified his age at
time of enlistment. He was only 16 years old
and just 17-1/2 at the time of his death.

The other crew members killed were:

1st Lt. William D Collins, Co-Pilot
1st Lt. Craig E Lewis, Bombardier
TSgt. William E Epps, Radio Operator & Gunner
