Doris Andrew, 82, a lifelong resident of Waterville, died June 9, 2009, following a sudden illness. She was born to Robert and Annie (Dubel) Reid on January 4, 1927, in Waterville. Doris graduated from Waterville High School in 1945. After graduating, she helped her dad in the machine shop before marrying Floyd Andrew on May 9, 1946. Six months later, they welcomed their first of three daughters, Ann. Two years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Sandra and in 1954, their last daughter, Terry, was born. After Terry started school, Doris worked for a short time for Charlie Clements at Waterville TV, Inc. She later worked for Richard Reiber and Ben Zanol in the packing sheds in Orondo, until she was injured and couldn't work. She was an avid Waterville Shocker sports supporter, receiving, with Floyd, the Booster of the Year award for the school year 1992-93. Doris also enjoyed fishing, knitting, bowling, gardening and camping in her younger days.Doris is survived by her sister, Fay (Frank) Bowers-Holland of East Wenatchee; her brothers, Ralph Reid of Wenatchee and Carroll (Elnor) Reid of Sequim; her daughters, Ann (Norm) Zumwalt of Buhl, ID, Sandra (Randy) Schneider of Ellensburg and Terry (John) Conners of Waterville; her seven grandkids, Shauna (Tommy) Valencia of Yelm, Shelly Kramer of Spirit Lake, ID, Trina (Dave) Clune of Waterville, Samantha Conners of Waterville, Jake Schneider of Seattle, Rochelle (Keith) Wigen of Spokane and Nicole (Aaron) Flansburg of Palouse, WA; six great-grandkids, Cheyenne and Racheal Valencia, Harley, Kylee and Nathaniel Clune and Elena Jane Flansburg; and special friends, Elaine de Genaro of Brazil and Bobby Ann and Rachel Willms of Waterville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 2001; her sisters, Kay Smith, Helen Ramin and Verna Hyman; and her parents.A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, June 15, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Waterville Federated Church, with Pastor Daniel Miranda officiating. Memorials may be made to the Waterville Ambulance Fund and the Federated Church. Service arrangements by Waterville Funeral Home.
