Maria Jane, wife of Henry Agan, died at her home one half mile south of Bussey on friday morning, Feb. 12,1904, aged 59 yrs 4 mo and 18 days. Death resulted from pneumonia.
Her maiden name was Maria Jane Lock. She was born in Orange Co.,IN September 25, 1944, and came to Iowa with her parents in 1849, when only five years of age, and was married to Henry Agan in 1878.
She was the mother of three children, all girls,Loula,Barbara and Henrietta, who with their father still survives, to mourn the death of the mother and wife. She leaves two brothers and five sisters, one of whom is Mrs. William Gullion of this city.
Mrs Agan has been a member of the Methodist Protestant Church at Bussey for several years. the funeral occurred Sunday at 2 p.m. interment at Oak Dale cemetery near Bussey.
