Terrell Times Star, October 19, 1894 "During the still hours of darkness Friday night at 1:30 o'clock Uncle Pink Stovall died at his home five miles southwest of the city. Old age, superinduced by heart failure, was the cause of his death. Mr. Stovall was born April 21, 1823. He was a native of Mississippi, coming to Kaufman county in 1868. He was a lieutenant in the 12th Mississippi cavalry in the confederate army. He was a devout Christian and has been an active member of the church for fifty-one years. He was the oldest of ten brothers and is a brother of Dr. A. J. Stovall of this city. He leaves three sons and three daughters, his wife preceding him to the grave two years to mourn his death. The remains were interred at the Rose Hill cemetery Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock."
