NEIL, Jo Passed away November 1, 2009, after a two year battle with ovarian cancer. Jo was involved in Womans Republican politics, made hand crafted baskets for friends and Child Help and was a devoted grandmother. Jo loved Lake Hughes, our supportive neighbors who are always there with a helping hand and whose actions speak louder that words can express, the 49ners Day parade and carnival, a great time with her grandchildren, the staff at
the Post Office who she grew to know as friends. Lake Hughes is a great small town for a big city girl. The family would like to thank the staff ay Antelope Valley Hospital and the City of Hope, in particular Dr. Mihaela Cristea, her oncologist, and the staff in the Phase 1 unit, Mary, Chris, Patrah, George and Astrid, who were all so kind and caring in providing Jo with two additional years to a great life. Jo was grateful in life and she was happy. Jo is survived by her husband, Bill Neil of Lake Hughes, Calif., son, Lt. Col. Paul Shevlin and wife Maria of Temecula, Calif., daughter, Debbie Waller and husband Ian of Manhattan Beach, Calif., grandchildren, Allie, Stacy, Chris, Mark, and Amiee. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 12 p.m., both on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary followed by interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park both in Palmdale, Calif. You may e-mail your condolences to [email protected]. Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
