She was born April 28, 1935 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, the eldest of six children born to Ara Om and Annie Romney Call. She attended high school in Appleton, Wisc. and received a Bachelor of Science with honors degree in Bacteriology and Chemistry from Brigham Young University. She was an ASCP registered medical technician.

She married her eternal sweetheart Rey L. Barnes over 54 years ago on June 22, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was the beloved mother of four sons and four daughters. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous teaching and leadership callings. She served on a Church Service Mission with her husband at the Regional LDS Employment Center in Spokane.

An avid photographer and collector of historical and genealogical photographs, she maintained a digital archive of over 50,000 pictures and contributed historical materials to several award-winning books. She enjoyed watching birds and wildlife. She traveled widely in the U.S ., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Japan and the eastern Indian Ocean. She took special joy in her African photo safari and a cruise to Alaska.

Marjorie was active in Republican politics and a long time voting judge. She volunteered in the public schools and in many charitable and service activities. She loved the water and was always delighted to share boats and the lake with her family. She never went anywhere without her camera and her cross-stitch projects.
