George Martin Downs, age 79, of Dickson, Tennessee died Monday, December 12, 2005 in Horizon Medical Center, Dickson, Tennessee. His remains are to be cremated and no visitation or services are planned. Arrangements by Taylor Funeral Home. Mr. Downs, a native of Washington, DC was the son of the late George and Jane Bowles Downs. He was a veteran in WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired motorcycle officer for Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C.

Survivors include his four sons; Richard Downs, Bakersfield CA; Raymond Downs, Ashburn, VA; Paul Downs, Laurel, MD; Douglas Downs, Silver Springs, MD; one brother, James Downs of Maryland; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
