The following is found on a website entitled "Confederate Soldiers of Taylor County". It includes a photo which I have added to the memorial with a link to the website.

George Dice: Mr. Dice enlisted in the 5th Florida Infantry Company G, in Jefferson County, Florida. In July of 1863 he was shot in the right arm at the battle of Gettysburg, causing the arm to be amputated. After the war Mr. Dice lived in Taylor County, Florida between Eridu and Shady Grove, for a period of time. He applied for a soldier's pension in Madison County, Florida in 1899. Mr. Dice died in Madison County, January 2, 1900.
