The Islanders were most pleasantly surprised at the marriage of Peter Gunnlaugsson jr. to Miss Sarah Einarson, at the home of the bride's brother Christopher, the ceremony taking place March 2d. It is one of the very few weddings where the neighbors did not know more about the event than the high contracting parties themselves, so well did the couple keep their secret. It therefore came as a surprise of their most intimate friends. If any man was ever deserving of a good wife and helpmate Peter is that individual. The bride is equally fortunate in the selection of life's partner. A nice and comfortable home awaited the happy couple, who may now be said to be fairly launched on the matrimonial sea, and a legion of friends and relatives extend most hearty congratulations for a pleasant voyage down life's pathway.

*Peter Jacob Gunnlaugson was born on Washington Island in the year 1878. Sigridur "Sarah" Einarsdottir was born in Iceland in the year 1872. Together they had one son; Peter Jacob; who was born in 1911. Sarah lived to be 87 years old; passing away in 1960. Peter lived to be 88 years old; passing away on the Island in 1966.
