ELLISON, Charles "Cece" Cece was born in 1921, in La Moure, N. Dakota, to Oscar and Anne Ellison. He passed away on October 23, 2009, in Lancaster, Calif. Cece moved to Lancaster with his mother and brother at age 5, and entered Lancaster Grammar School in 1926. He was an 83 year resident of Lancaster. He graduated from A.V. High School and A.V. Jr. College, then enlisted in the Navy. He served on the USS Montauk during World War II. Upon returning
from the war he owned and operated Desert Operating Co. He was preceded in death in 2003, by his wife of 61 years, Shirley. He is survived by two sons; Jon (Lisa) of Westlake Village; Mark (Linda) of Lancaster, and daughter Kristi Word of Lancaster, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In their lifetime Cece and Shirley traveled every continent. However he especially loved his summers with Shirley on Balboa Island.
His favorite time of the year was fall, when his beloved Trojans took the field. Since a small child, he attended every USC home game until 2007. He traveled to many away games also.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Mumaw Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Lancaster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BPOE Elks Lodge #1625; 240 E. Ave K, Lancaster, CA 93535.
Dad will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
