Funeral services for Ms. Alma T. Bennett will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009 in Northside Baptist Church, Oakdale with Elder Larry Wilson, Reverend Jason Townley and Reverend Robert Hearne officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Ms. Bennett, 80, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Monday, October 26, 2009 in West Jefferson Medical Center, Marrero.
Alma was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she loved her church family. She retired from South Central Bell after eighteen years and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a strong will, a love for life and was a friend to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Elsie Townley and one sister, Yvonne Townley.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons, Jesse Coker and his wife, Brenda of Pineville and Bruce Bennett of Denham Springs; two daughters, Carolyn Richmond and her husband, Harold of Oakdale and Bridget Chandler and her husband, Cody of West Des Moines, Iowa; five brothers, C. H. Townley of Oakdale, Elmo Townley of Hineston, Donnie Townley of Oakdale, Ottis Townley of Beaver and Roger Townley of Oakdale; three sisters, Lavonne Dixon of Denham Springs, Elaine French of Perry, Georgia and Shirley Townley of Denham Springs; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
