Eve (Ogle) Garrett Abbott
June 22, 1920 - March 24, 2005
Eve was born in Waterville, Washington. She was the youngest of six children born to Eddie H. and Myrtle A. Ogle.
She married Bill Garrett in 1941, and moved to Republic, Washington, until Bill left for World War II. After the war, they returned to Waterville, spent a brief time in Spokane and then Wenatchee. Eve and Bill divorced and Eve married Robert J. Abbott in 1971. They resided in Portland, OR, San Diego, CA, and settled in Moraga, CA, on Eve's 65th birthday to be near her granddaughters.
Eve was a loving mother to Shelley Garrett Bagg and Jonathan E. Garrett and later to her step-son, Rodney J. Abbott, all of whom survive her. She was a wonderful grandmother to her granddaughters, Eve and Suzanne. We all remember how Eve made us laugh. Her vitality, intelligence, keen wit and sense of humor were her hallmarks. Eve lived life to the fullest and her motto was: I Resolve to Live My Life Out-Loud (Emile Zola).
And she did. We will miss her greatly.
A memorial service will be held in Moraga, CA on April 3, 2005, and another service will be held in Waterville, WA in late May. Donations may be made in Eve's memory to the Moraga-Orinda Fire District Paramedic Unit, 33 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA 94563.
