Elna Mower Miles, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, 13 November 1995.

She was born 24 May 1906 in Fairview, Sanpete County, Utah to James Byron and Mary Elizabeth (Erickson) Mower.

She received her early education in Sanpete area, then later attended Weber State and BYU.

She taught elementary school in Ogden, Utah and Sunnyvale, Calif.

In 1971 she retired and later returned to Utah to be near family.

Active member of the LDS Church.

Elna was preceded in death by three husbands: Arthur S. Harris, Charles F. VanAllen, and Harvey A. Miles.

She is survived by a sister, Ruby Gealta of Ogden; nieces, Thora (Charles) Bell, Denese (David) Checketts, and Carolyn (Rod) Duggins and their families.

Elna was a courageous, independent, generous person who was not afraid of life.

We will miss her.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, 11 a.m. at the Rose Park 9th LDS Ward, 760 No. 1300 West; where friends may call one hour prior to services.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park Ogden, Utah.

Funeral directors: Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
