Gustavis, shown as G F V, age 10, lived on a farm in Middle Division, Dickson Co, TN with his parents, W R V & Martha C. Schmittou, ages 40 & 33. The nearest post office was located in Danielsville. His father had land & personal wealth valued at $2500 & $2160. His siblings were S V, age 12; W S V, 9; S A V, 7; & R T V, 3.
ON JULY 8, 1870,
Gustavis, age 21, lived in District 5, Dickson Co, TN with his mother, Martha, 40, & siblings, Levy, age 23; Scott, 18; Salina, 14 (female); & Robert, 10. His father had died. Martha owned land & personal estate valued at $2000 & $500. The nearest post office was in White Bluff.

ON JUNE 7, 1880, Guss & Sarah, shown as Ellen, ages 29 & 25, lived in Denton Co, TX with daughter & son, Luella, age 5, & Joseph W. Gus supported them by farming.
ON JUNE 16, 1900,
Gus, a farmer, shown as George F., & Sarah, ages 51 & 45, owned a farm in Justice Precinct 6, Clay Co, TX. They had been married 28 years; Sarah had given birth to 7 children of whom 5 were living. Members of their household included two sons, George W. & Calvin, ages 12 & 9, and his widowed mother-in-law, Emily, age 73 (born in TN in February 1827. She had given birth to 8 children, 7 of whom were living.
Gus died in their home in Newport, Clay Co, TX from Lobar Pneumonia about 4 p.m. on February 15, 1910. He had lived 61 years & 4 months. He was buried the same day.
