CALLIS, Louisa C. PARKER - Louisa C. Callis, nee Parker, was born in Coffee County, Tennessee July 14, 1849. When only a little girl her parents moved to this county where she resided until death, after a short illness took her, Feb. 20, 1920. She professed faith in Christ about twenty-six years ago and until the end gave indisputable evidence of her sincerity. Though sometimes inconvenient for her to attend public worship she enjoyed the services of the sanctuary. "Aunt Cassie" as she was familiarly and lovingly called, was a devoted wife and mother, friend and neighbor, and doubtless many can endorse what a lady said of her while she was yet alive: "She is one of the best women that ever lived." As in the case of her husband, funeral services were held at the home by the writer and the body was laid to sleep in Barron cemetery beside that of her companion who had preceded her just sixteen days. May the gracious Father of us all comfort the children and relatives in their double bereavement and sorrow. J.A. Fair.
