Melissa Jane Bedwell Begemann Bradfield Vest, was the daughter of Squire Jordan Bedwell and Dorcas Booker. Her first marriage was to Frederick W Begemann, later the family would show Begerman because the administrator of the estate in Missouri used Begerman and the family, probably for legal reasons signing for moneys from the settlement and such continued to use Begerman as they were in Indiana at the time of the final settlement in 1885, but marriage records and her diary show it to be Begemann. She had 4 children the youngest Clidy died in Stoddard County, Missouri at a year old in 1883 and Frederick died 11 days later March 8th, 1883. Melissa moved back to Sullivan County where her father was guardian of Joshua, James and Stella until 1886, then in 1890 she married Henry Bradfield in Greene County Indiana, who she divorced in 1898. She then married Valentine Vest on 11 January, 1905, who was the widower of Carolina Begemann, who was the widow of Johann Friedrick Conrad Begemann, Frederick W Begemann's Uncle, she seemed very happy after marrying Valentine according to my father, her grandson, until her death in 1934 at the age of 82.
No documentation has been shown, that Pyesa and his son were related to Elander Black who married Robert Bedwell in 1775 In Rowan county North Carolina .
