Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Monday, June 19, 1995

Harold D. Pemberton, 69, Iberia, died Sunday at St. Marys Health Center. He was born July 19, 1925 in Iberia, a son of Wade and Edna Wall Pemberton. He was married October 11, 1979, in Miami Okla., to Verna Keeth Cardwell, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and he worked for many years at Ft. Leonard Wood. He later owned and operated Pemberton Sales and Service in Iberia for 30 years. He was a member of the Iberia First Christian Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Gary Pemberton, of the home; three stepsons, Rusty Cardwell, Ladson, SC, Greg Cardwell, Eldon, Kevin Cardwell, of the home; one stepdaughter, Jeanine Blankenship, Iberia; four brothers, Jim Pemberton, Iberia, Lynn Pemberton, Bonita Springs, Florida, Victor Pemberton, Iberia, and Donald Pemberton, Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Wilma Birge, Seymour, Indiana, Gretchen Jones, St. Louis, Pauline Livingston, Sequim, Wash., Jean Keeth, Iberia and Jane Wilson, Florissant; and five step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Iberia First Christian Church. The Rev. Stan Way will officiate. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery, Iberia. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
