Born in Aurora, Oregon, to Walter and Jennie (Curtis) Colvin. Attended Union High School in Canby where she met Cal Stout. Married January 11, 1944, in Portland while Cal was in the Navy. Daughter Kathleen was born 1947 in Pensacola, Florida. Stephen, Susan and Lanette were born in Vancouver.

Harriet was a full time homemaker until her divorce in 1972. She worked for Freightliner until 1982 when she joined the U.S. Forest Service retiring in 2003 at age 78. She passed away from diabetes complications at the Ray Hickey Hospice House.

Preceded in death by infant daughter, Susan; grandson, Shane Hartung; parents; sisters: May Yeoman, Francis Jespersen, Anadene Logan; brother, Walter Colvin.

Survivors: sisters, Jewell Jeskey and Margaret (Bob) Stewart; brother, Norman (Joyce) Colvin; former husband, Cal Stout; daughters: Kathy Lee and Lanette Stout (Jerry) Guest; son, Steve (Nancy) Stout; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service 11 a.m., October 19th, Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel; interment Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver. Columbian, October 18, 2009
