MARY BAILEY WATSON

Mrs. Mary Bailey Watson, 85, of Valley, AL died Wednesday, 4 Jun 2003 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, 6 Jun 2003 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL with Rev Don Sailor officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughter, Janice (Bill) Owens of Lanett, AL; her granddaughter, Danna (Neil) Beck of Valley, AL; two sisters, Judy Wilson of LaGrange, GA and Audra Wood of Houston, TX; and two brothers, Arnold Bailey of Woodland, AL and J. F. Bailey of Valdosta, GA.
Born 21 Dec 1917 in Randolph County, AL, Mrs. Watson was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell's Langdale Mill. She was a devoted volunteer at George H Lanier Memorial Hospital, having worked with the AL-GA Hospital Auxiliary for 13 years. At a recent luncheon at the Riverside Country Club, Mrs. Watson was awarded the 3,000-hour bar for her service to the community. Best of all, she loved her family and friends and she let you know by a cheerful attitude and willingness to help in any situation. Mrs. Watson was a member of Langdale Congregational Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Watson, three sisters and two brothers. She was the daughter of the late Ruby South Bailey and T. J. Bailey.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the AL-GA Hospital Auxiliary in her memory.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 5 Jun 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.
