Toronto, Ont., July 16 – The bodies of Alice and Nellie Pitzel, the two missing daughters of Benjamin F. Pitzel, were found yesterday buried under the cellar of the house at No. 16 St. Vincent street. The children are believed to have been suffocated by gas by H. H. Holmes, the man who is supposed to have killed their father in Philadelphia. A third child, Howard, aged 8, is thought to have been murdered similarly in another city by Holmes, the desire being to rid himself of three beings who might rise to convict him of the other crime.

TORONTO, Ont., July 20--The bones of Alice and Nellie Pitezel have found their final resting place. This afternoon two small graves were opening in St. James's cemetery, and therein the remains of the little victims were laid. The mournful cortege comprised only two children's hearses and a closed carriage containing Mrs. Pitezel and Detectives Cuddy and Geyer.

Since Alice knew her father was dead, but Carrie did not, Holmes had to keep them apart. Because fourteen year old Alice missed family members, Holmes brought sister Nellie and brother Howard to keep her company. He murdered 10 year old Howard in Irvington, Indiana on October 10, 1894, then Alice and 12 year old Nellie in Toronto, Canada, on October 25, 1894 (not July 19, 1894).
