OBITUARY
Harrisville –On October 6, 2009 at the age of 93, one day before her 94th birthday, Dorothy Arbon, a beautiful, loving lady left this life to be reunited with her eternal companion.

She was born October 7, 1915 in Ogden, Utah. She was the fifth child of John E. Spiers and Rose Alvira Wilson. She grew up in Wilson and attended the old Wilson Elementary School and Weber High School. At the time of her death she had been a long time resident of Harrisville.

On August 1, 1936 she married Lavere O. FIELD in Wilson, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on November 1, 1950. From this union they were blessed with one son and two daughters. Lavere preceded her in death on June 22, 1957. She married Carl A. Arbon on July 3, 1962. This union was blessed with one son. Carl preceded her in death on June 12, 1988

Dorothy was a faithful member of the Harrisville 1st Ward and held many church positions, including Primary teacher, visiting teacher and in the Relief Society. She was a member of the Five Points Ladies Lions Club, the old Lincoln Elementary School PTA and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Dorothy worked for the Ogden City School District and Sierra Lingerie Company. She loved gardening, reading and embroidery. Dorothy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and she looked forward to going to lunch and shopping with her daughters.

Dorothy is survived by her son Larry (Bonnie) Field of Farr West; two daughters, Kay (Dirk) Kendall of Sunset, Joy (Clyde) Johnson of West Haven; 14 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers Bernard Spiers of Plain City, Donald Spiers of Los Lunos, New Mexico and her sister Laura McBride of Mullen, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Lavere and Carl; sisters Florence "Todd" Swaner, Marjorie "Marge" Hewitt and Edna "Ed" McComb; and infant son Jeffery Arbon.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2009 at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Monday, October 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
