Henry Strader arived in Philadelphia, PA from Rotterdam, Holland in 1748 on the ship Aurora. Both of his parents died on the voyage over. He was raised by his uncle, Hans Wellem Strader (1720-1784) who settled in Wantage Twp., Sussex County, NJ. Christopher Strader (1745-1825), his uncle's son, is Find A Grave Memorial #21854414.
Henry Strader resided in Mansfield Twp., Sussex (now Warren County, NJ.). He purchased a 300 acre farm from James Hazlitt in 1785 for 815 pounds. He willed 100 pounds to each of his seven daughters. He willed his farm to his eldest son John Strader. He willed another plantation to his second son Jacob Strader. The names of his daughters were; Margaret, Catherine, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, Christiana, and Sarah. John Strader, the eldest child of Henry and Mary (Creveling) Strader, married Frances Piatt. Jacob Strader married Charity.
