Caught in a drive pulley and thrown to an almost instant death, William Herrick, who was to have been 60 years old , lost his life in the power plant of the Eagle River Utility company at Eagle River on a late Saturday afternoon. Herrick was for 28 years a resident of Rhinelander.
Herrick, alone in the plant where he was employed as an engineer, apparently was caught on the belt of a shaft and hurled to his fate. Investigation showed that he probably lived for half an hour after the accident occurred and his body was found several hours later.
