Pauline Thelma Kiehl, daughter of Harry and Louetta Ogilvie Reeve, was born in the Eckley community, nine and one-half miles northwest of Guide Rock, March 30, 1913. she died at her home in Guide Rock Sunday, Feb 23.
Mrs Kiehl grew up in the Eckley community and received her formal education attending the Eckley School. Feb 4, 1931, she was united in marriage with Vern H Kiehl at Red Cloud. They lived near Burr Oak until 1933, when they moved to Guide Rock to make their home.
Mrs Kiehl was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Garry Giger, and her twin brother, Paul Theron, who died as a young child.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vern; daughters, Betty June Ronnau, San Ygnacio, Texas, and Thelma Arlene Frans, Phoenix; son Harold Dean Kiehl, Hastings; six grandchildren, Larry Giger, Michael Ronnau, Nancy Dickerson, Karen Wiley, Sandra Vaughan and Christine Soucek; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Emily Nies, Red Bluff, Calif., and Irma Portenier, Doniphan; other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2 p.m. last Wednesday from the Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Red Cloud, with the Rev Marvin Palmer officiating. Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.
