SCHEVOLA, Wendy Lee
Born April 9, 1956, in Galstonbury, Connecticut. Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away at her home in Lancaster September 25, 2009, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Lauren and Jacqueline Burke; sister Nancy Lukacs of Lancaster; brother James of New Port Richey, Florida, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She worked in the banking industry in the Antelope Valley for many years as a commercial loan analyst, last at Mojave Desert Bank. She was very active with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for many years. Many children have worn her trademark beaded socks which she made during the Relay for Life. We would like to thank the nurses at AV Hospital for their dedicated care and support; as well as the Hoffman Hospice for their care during this time. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Desert Lawn Cemetery 2200 East Ave S, Palmdale, Calif. A Celebration of life will be held after the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
