Betty Jane Johnson, 72, died July 26, 1997 at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tn. Born October 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward Jenkins and Minnie Mae Phillips Jenkins.
She attended school in Braggadocio, Mo.
On December 18, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was united in marriage to Mr. E.S. "Shorty" Johnson.
She atteneded the Assembly of God Church in Fisk, Mo.
Survivors include: her husband, E.S. "Shorty" Johnson of Puxico,Mo.; two daughters, Alevia Kitchen of Moberly, Mo. and Betty Lynn Baxter of Ashland, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Vera Jenkins of Brunswick, Ga.; three grandchildren, Velda McMorris, Beverly Halley, Sheila Kitchen; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
Services were held July 29, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Alvie officiating. Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
