At fifteen years of age Green entered Ingham University in LeRoy, New York in preparation for attending Wellesley College. Shortly after entering Wellesley Green returned to New York to study art. She studied in London, England but returned home shortly after due to her mother falling ill. In 1890 she married Levi Worthington Green, toured Europe for six months and then they couple made their home in Rochester, NY. Green was well know for her writing and was an excellent poetess. A number of her poems appeared in local journals and in the Boston ‘Transcript.' Green also published a volume of poems, ‘Lines and Interlines' that was published in 1887.
