Mrs. Elma Scott, 96, of Callaway, passed away Saturday evening, September 26, 2009, in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1968 coming here from Apopka, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield where she was a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and loved knitting and crochet. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Murray Brown in 1968 and also by a son, Luther Devon Pierce and a great grandson, Josh Pierce; also, four brothers, Thomas Wall, Ralph Wall, Luther Wall, and W.E. Wall; and sister, Mary E. Phillips. She is survived by her daughter, Nina Bowers and husband Ted of Panama City; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Pierce; and five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Scott will be conducted on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Springfield First Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Callaway Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends this evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM.
