John Abraham Hudspeth was born in 1863 Arkansas.
He is the son of Ahijah John Hudspeth and Mary Henry whose marriage happened about 1860 - 1861. Some say John Abraham had a different mother. We are still researching this.

John Abraham first married January 1, 1884 to Josie Sanders in Carroll County. Josie was born born around 1865. She died after her last child was born in 1896. John Abraham was in the 1900 census listed as a bachelor with all his six children in Carroll County Arkansas. Therefore, Josie passed away between 1896 and 1900. Most likely, Josie is buried somewhere in Carroll County, although we are still looking to find out where. John Abraham "Abe" Hudspeth was born in Arkansas according to census records of Lettie Jane Hudspeth, daughter. The census record says Josie was also born in Arkansas, but according to a record that I have found on her, she was most likely born in Cooweescoowee Indian Territory, Oklahoma. The census is listed below:

John Abraham Hudspeth has been found in the Harper Cemetery, Perryville, in Perry County Arkansas. In the 1900 census for Carroll County, Arkansas, Josie was not listed with Abraham and the children, so she must have passed away between 1896 - 1900. Her last child was born in 1896, and I have read in some family trees that Josie died giving birth to her last child Eva Hudspeth.

The children of the above marriage are three girls and three boys:

James Lewis Hudspeth born: June 1885
John Hudspeth born: January 1886
Marion Hudspeth born: January 1888 - 1958
Lettie Jane Hudspeth born: 1890 died: 1960
Dora Ellen Hudspeth born: 1892 died: 1942
Eva Manza Hudspeth Hammons born: 1896 died: 1978

The second marriage of John Abraham Hudspeth was to Alvira Jane Keen on August 4, 1901 in Carroll County, Arkansas. Alvira Jane was born in 1870. Alvira Jane's first husband was Sidney Cane, and she had
children with him. Alvira died in 1946 and is buried at the Lower Campground Cemetery, kingston, Madison, Arkansas.

The children of the marriage of John Abraham Hudspeth and Alvira Jane Keen Hudspeth are:

Pearl Dovie Hudspeth 1902 - 1951
Frank Owen Hudspeth born: 1903 died: 2001
Joseph Walter Hudspeth born: 1908 died: 1976
Lucy Hudspeth Smith (1911 - 1954)*
