He may have been born on 27 November 1834 or in the year 1833; various sources list various dates. He married Mary W. Pournelle on 19 June 1855 in Sandersville, Georgia. He graduated from the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1860 and was a physician. He served in the Civil War in the 12th Battalion of Georgia Light Artillery as an assistant surgeon; he was later the assistant surgeon of the 1st Georgia Regiment at the Battle of Greenbrier River in Virginia (now West Virginia). He resigned on 31 December 1864. He married second to Antionette Vashti Smith on 19 February 1867 in Hancock County, Georgia.

Dr. B. Frank Rudisill, age 71, died 29 Jun 1901 at his home Forsyth, Ga, where he had resided since the close of the war. Brother of Capt. John W. Rudisill, school teacher. Frank was a surgeon of the regiment.
Dr. Rudisill married 1st Mary Pournelle 1855, who died here. Married second time wife in Forsyth, who is dead. Survived by two sons two daughters, one the wife of Rev. Alex Bealer of Cartersville; the other is the wife of Mr. G.B. Thweatt of Forsyth at whose house he died.
