Eldred Benjamin Morris passed away suddenly at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 28, 1982.
Eldred was born in Oak Park, Georgia (in the little white house on the curve that set beside Pete Strange's home), and grew up in Jacksonville. He worked for many years as a groomer and trainer of greyhounds at the race tracks in Jacksonville, as well as worked for the city.
He was survived by his wife, Wanda Gladin Morris, and only child, Kevin Eldred Morris, both of Jacksonville; and brothers, Warren Morris of Sanford, Florida, and Dale Morris of Oak Park.
Eldred was a quiet, soft-spoken man who loved home and family.
He was laid to rest in the Morris Family Cemetery near Oak Park.
