Final Rites Held For Mrs. J. H. Jones
Funeral services were held at the First Christian church for Mrs. John Henry Jones Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. T. T. Brown officiating. Interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery.
Hannah Rachel Elizabeth Gray was born at Marshall, Ark. January 9, 1862 and died June 1, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 22 days.
She moved with her parents to Boone county, Arkansas, in 1876 and was united in marriage with John Henry Jones at Rally Hill, Ark., January 22 1885. To this union eight children were born. James Sparling died in infancy.
She joined the Christian church with her husband in 1899 and remained a member until her death.
The family moved to Oklahoma in 1899 settling near Mountain View. They moved to their farm north of Carnegie in 1902 and lived there and in Carnegie since that time.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, F.B. [Felix Bolen] Jones, Oklahoma City; W.S. [William Sterling] Jones, Avilla, Mo.; Clifford Jones, Carnegie, and Dr. A. Lex Jones, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Mrs. D.F. [Elsie Myrtle] McCalla and Mrs. J.H. [Verlie] Winter, Carnegie, and Mrs. J. Charles Smith [Ethel Mae], Pawhuska; two brothers, J.M. [John McDougal] Gray, Oklahoma City, and W.G. [William George Washington]Gray, Carnegie; 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
