Obituary (Madison (MO) Times, June 14, 1928)- W. F. Alexander died at his home near Duncan's Bridge Friday following an extended illness. He was for many years a successful merchant at Duncan's Bridge and was well and favorably known throughout this section of the county. The deceased was a high type of citizen and his passing brings sorrow not only to his family but to a host of friends. William F. Alexander was born Aug. 16, 1848, died June 8, 1928. He was married to Virginia Wine, Oct. 1868. To this union was born three children. Anna, who died Nov. 23, 1874, Erving and De, who survive the deceased. He married Sarah Hendrix Aug. 5, 1925 with whom he lived until death. He united with the Baptist church early in life and has lived a consistent life since. He leaves a wife, two sons, one grandson, a great granddaughter and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Mr. Alexander was a member for many years of the Masonic lodge and members of the Madison lodge conducted the rites at the grave. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. F. LeGrand.
