22 December 1999 (Mrs Ward) Elzada Elizabeth Fietkau Evans, 93, of Sandy, Utah followed the setting sun to rejoin her loved ones and her Heavenly Father on the other side of the veil.

Born 14 March, 1906 in Milburn, Sanpete County, Utah, to Elmira Mower and Carl Elmer Fietkau.

Moved to Boneta, Duchesne County, Utah in 1912 where she attended schools at Boneta and Duchesne.

She also attended Brigham Young Academy at Provo, Utah.

On February 1, 1928, she married her neighbor and sweetheart, Ward Evans, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Together they built a house, cleared the land and began a family.

They lived in Boneta 1928 - 1952, Maeser, Uintah County, 1952 - 1977, and Sandy, Utah 1977 - 1999.

Elzada was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ward; and two sons: Warren Kent, and Gayle Griffin Evans.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon (Beth) Evans of West Valley City, Chad (Betty) Evans, Roosevelt, Wendell (Donna) Evans, Coalville, Forrest (Luella) Evans, Murray, Conrad (Pat) Evans of Salt Lake, Val (Joyce) and Burke Evans of Sandy; daughters, (Dawn) Eloise Gatherum of Roy, (Terry) Katherine Thimmis of La Grande, Oregon; brother, Ross (Janet) Fietkau of North Ogden; sisters, Bernice Abplanalp of Yucaipa, CA, (Jack) Ruby Fitzwater, Salt Lake City, and (Napier) Alice Swasey of Roosevelt, Utah; Her progeny include 42 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 16 great great-grandchildren.

Mother Evans, a diligent and active member of the LDS Church, had two main goals in life; leading her progenitors back to the presence of her Father in Heaven by example and serving the Lord in the variety of positions she was called to with all her heart, might, mind, and strength.

She felt compelled to comb the earth searching for the records of her ancestors.

This she did as long as possible.

We know she will continue this process along with her loved ones in her new home.

Thanks mom, for your life, your love and your shinning example of goodness. You will be missed!!!!
