Elizabeth Jane (nee: Little) Preston was the first wife of Matthew Preston. She was married to Matthew in 1850 in England coming to the Hazel Green area in 1851. She bore an infant son William memorialized on head stone and believed to buried in Hazel Green area, (possibly unmarked grave) lived about a month. They moved to the Preston Wisconsin area about 1853. She had an additional six children. Matthew later remarried and moved to Platteville, Wisconsin.
