Ruth G. (Roberts) Mazepa, 88, of Orefield, died Tuesday, March 04, 2008 in her home. She was the wife of the late Stephen Mazepa. Born in Walnutport on October 21, 1919, Ruth was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Lloyd) Roberts. She and her late husband Steve owned and operated the Leather Corner Post Hotel (Home of the Boom-Bas) in Orefield from 1954-1975.

Survivors: Son, Dr. Stephen C. Mazepa and his wife Debra of Allentown; daughter, Jenny L. Mazepa Malouin, wife of the late Don Malouin who died in 2005 of Lenhartsville; grandchildren, Stephen H. Mazepa, Kathy L. (Mazepa) Obando, Dr. Darin P. Mazepa, Carl F. Schmoyer III, and Stephen M. Schmoyer; great grandchildren, Shilo, Zoe, Andrew and Samuel. Also surviving are a step granddaughter, Kristen Haas and her husband Rick; step-great-grandchildren, Jonathan Beck, Samantha and Matthew Haas.

Services: Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington.

This lady was also the companion of a lovely man, Walter Yastrop. The same was true for William F. Wolf. Ruth and her husband had also shared their home with Charles Litta.
