Margaret Thomson Farley, 72, a lifelong resident of Fremont County, died at her home in Parker on Sept. 8, 2009, following lingering health problems.

Margaret was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Teton, Idaho, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Hobbs Thomson. She grew up in Teton, where she attended elementary school and graduated from South Fremont High School.

She married Gerald "Dode" Farley on May 27, 1955, in Parker. They made their home in Parker, where they have since resided. Mr. Farley died Oct. 14, 1991.

She had a cake decorating business for several years. She enjoyed gardening and loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (David) Beck of Rexburg and Michelle (Eric) Staley of Parker; five grandchildren, Dustin, Jason, Tiffani Beck, and Trevor and Angela Staley; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Steve and Stacy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, in the Parker LDS church with Bishop Doug Hanks officiating. Friends may call at the Parker Church from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.bidwellfuneralhome.com.
