Mr. Anthan Allen "Cap" Barker, 90 of Lanett, passed away Friday, April 13, 1984 at V.A. Medical Center in Tuskegee following several months declining health.
A lifelong resident of Chambers County, Mr. Barker was born June 19, 1893. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War I and was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church near Wadley, and a member of American Legion Post Number 67.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Barker and Emerson Barker, Lanett: one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Ragazzo, Niles, Ohio; one brother, K. D. Barker, Fairfax; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral was held at Sanders Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Clifford DeLee officiating. Burial was in the Allen Family Cemetery in Chambers County.
Sanders Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.
