Isam Brisco Jr., 84 of Sheridan, passed away Aug. 6 at Hallettsville Rehabilitaiton and Nursing Center.

He was born in Sheridan, March 25, 1918 to James Isam Brisco Sr. and Edna (Green) Brisco and married Helen Alford, Aug. 3, 1947. He was a World War II veteran, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, was a past director of Federal Land Bank of Texas and served on the State Advisory Board in Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Reggie Brisco.

He is survived by his wife; daughter and son-in-law, Hellene and John Mieth of Sheridan; sons and daughters-in-law, Isam III "Jim" and Carolyn Brisco of Lago Vista and Reggie and Barbara Brisco of Sheridan; grandchildren, Leah Kahlden and husband Kevin of Austin, Nerissa Brisco of Dallas, Dustin Brisco of San Marcos, Isam IV of Denton, John Mieth Jr. and Ben Mieth of Sheridan, and Cheryl and husband Howard Linder of Wallis; great-granddaughter, Kaechele Ann Linder; sister, Zelda Walker and husband Jean of Sheridan; brothers, Harry Brisco and wife Grace of Sheridan, Zane Brisco and wife Ruth of Gonzales, Lavo Brisco and wife Ruth of Sheridan; and uncle, Houston Benoist and wife Mary Louise of Schulenburg.

Funeral services were conducted Aug, 9 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus with the Rev. Herb Beyer officiating. Interment followed at Cheetham Cemetery in Sheridan with military honors by the VFW of Hallettsville.

Pallbearers were Ben Mieth, John Mieth, Dustin Brisco, Leah Kahlden, Kevin Kahlden, Nerissa Brisco, Isam Brisco IV and Cheryl Linder.

Honorary pallbearers were Allen Brogger, Houston Benoist, George Edge, Eldon Ohm, Pat Brandenburg, Lawrence Porter and the Square Dancers of Texas.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of South Texas, 1206 N. Texana, Hallettsville, TX 77964; or Cheetham Cemetery, P.O. Box 54, Sheridan, TX 77475 or the charity of your choice.
