Burrell was the spouse of Mary E. Martin Bass.

Both Burrell and Mary were from Jefferson County, Alabama. They were married January 17, 1856 at Wm. Martin's by Rev. A.J. Waldrop Baptist Minister.

They had the following children: Harriet C., Martin C., James D., John N., Mary E.J., Ellah E., Odellah R. and Oscar W. Bass.

Mr. B.J. Bass, his spirit took its flight last Monday, he was about 75 years old.

On July the 4th, 1904, Bro. Burrel J. Bass fell asleep in Jesus. He was born in Jefferson county, Alabama March 3rd, 1832, being 72 yrs, 4 months and 1 day old. He waa married to Mary E. Martin January 17, 1856. Nine children were the fruits of this union; three of whom preceded him to the heavenly home.
