PETER MIKKEL MUNK, farmer in Manti, son of Christian Ipsen and Ane Marie Mikkeldatter Rasmussen, was born on the island of Born Holm, Denmark, September 21, 1844. His parents were among the early members of the Mormon Church, and immigrated to this country with the first company of Scandinavian immigrants in 1853. They located in Spring City, this county, but were soon compelled to leave on account of the Indians, and moved to Manti. Mr. Munk made a trip across the plains in 1866 in a church train for immigrants. He always followed the occupation of a farmer, and had a good farm of 50 acres, and a nice house in town. Mr. Munk was one of the reliable citizens of Manti, and was elected by the people in the fall of 1895 to represent their interests in the City Council. He was also a stockholder in the Co-op. store. He married in Salt Lake City, November 24, 1868, to Miss Eunice A., daughter of James P. and Eunice (Reasor) Brown, born in the first log house with a board floor erected in Manti, March 13, 1851.
