According to Elliott Family Book, they were "married in the home of DeWalt Koone, John, Jas Hill and Sarah Elliott were witnesses. Justice of the Peace was W.B. Wilson.
He was a townsman for Rutherfordton and ran for County Comissioner in 1904. I have not yet found out anything conclusive of that run for office. I am assuming he did not win, as I think there would be record of it somewhere.
Jonas married Mary Ellen Cole on Aug 3, 1910, at her home in Burlington,NC.
Survived by two brothers, Calvin and Cebron, and nine children.
