Martha Louise Higginson, 80, formerly of Arthur Street, West Kittanning, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1991, at Wesley Manor Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 23, 1910, in Walkchalk to Charles C. and Lulu (Smith) John. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ of Kittanning and the Ladies' Guild. She was a charter member of the West Kittanning Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Survivors include four sons, Robert T., of Kittanning RD7; William C., of Worthington; Donald E., of Greensburg; and Thomas W. Higginson III, of Adrian RD1; five daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Walker of Adrian RD1; Mrs. James (Beverly) Armstrong of Templeton RD1; Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Heasley of Templeton; Mrs. Thomas (Paulette) Dunmire of Ford City; and Mrs. Richard (Cindy) Placek of Plain City, Ohio. Survivors also include one brother, Earl John of Kittanning RD3; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Layton of Kittanning and Mrs. Dale (Eunice) Griffith of Long Island, N. Y.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Higginson on Aug. 16, 1975. HIGGINSON – Friends of Martha Louise Higginson, 80, formerly of Arthur Street, West Kittanning, who died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1991, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Bauer Funeral Home, a Community Care Funeral Home, in Kittanning, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John W. Snyder, pastor of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Arrangements by Bauer.
