HUNTSVILLE — Steven Dwan Treat, 57, of Huntsville died Aug. 22, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. He was born Oct. 19, 1951, in Eureka Springs to Dwan W. and Virginia Lee Begley Treat.
Survivors include his wife, Athena Mae Warren Treat; two sons, Dustin Dwan Treat and Michael Heath Walker, both of Springdale; a daughter, Brandie Mae Treat of Fort Smith; two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Farmer Cemetery near Berryville.
Arrangements are by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.[The Morning News -

ALABAM -- A deer versus motorcycle accident Saturday evening claimed the life of Steven Dwan Treat, 58, of Huntsville and injured his wife, Athena Mae (Warren) Treat, 54, as the two were traveling along Arkansas Hwy. 127 near Alabam on a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Treat, the son of the late Carroll County Sheriff Dwan Treat and the late Virginia Treat of Berryville, followed in his father's footsteps. Before his recent retirement, he worked for the Madison County Sheriff Office as captain under former sheriff Ralph Baker, and served as interim sheriff following Baker's death.
Both he and Athena (Warren) Treat were Berryville High School graduates with three children and two grandchildren.
According to a family member, Athena Treat is recovering at home from injuries received in the accident, such as road burns and gashes.
She was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale where she was treated and released.
Steven Treat was also transported to Northwest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:57 p.m.
State Trooper Joshua Arnold said the accident occurred at 8:04 p.m. on Ark. Hwy. 127, one half mile north of Alabam.
He said Treat was traveling north on the highway, a straight and level roadway, when the motorcycle struck a deer. Arnold said the motorcycle overturned on its left side before coming to a final rest on the northbound lane. He said the weather was clear and the road dry.
